The Mk318 looks like a way to make the 5.56 round, which is basically a small game cartridge, into something that will have more penetrating power against barriers such as car doors, windscreens, etc., at longer ranges than is possible with the standard cartridge and short-barrelled rifles as the M4. This could all have been avoided if the Army had gone with the AR-10 (7.62 x 51) back in the early 60's instead of adopting the Air Force's M-16.

Mmm.. I know it very well but I don;t know how to translate my knowledge into good English... Naaa...

But I'm still confused with this: Why Mk318 is prohibited by Geneva rules to be used? I mind, only Mk318 which as strong as Russian's cartridges like 5N7 bullet (7.62 X 39mm)

The USA is not a signatory to the Hague Convention which determines the legality of weapons, so we are free to use any bullet that we want. Some of our sniper ammunition utilizes open-tip match bullets which are not designed to expand in flesh like hollow-points, which are banned.

Yeah, sniper has different rules too. It is usual if German sniper used match ammunition in his G3 sniper. But Indonesia is same with USA. Indonesia allowed to use 5N7 bullet in their AK-47. But, for Indonesian sniper, prefer to use 5.56mm sniper and 20mm sniper. 7.62mm? Rare or expensive! And, Indonesian soldiers aren't match with 7.62X51mm recoil effect.

Dan, majalah Commando saya nilai sebagai majalah militer yang paling berkualitas di RI, he he... majalah Angkasa? Aku kurang tertarik ama AU.

Tentu saja! :D:D Majalah Commando terbaik di RI!! ha ha ha..

Karena, hanya majalah inilah yang meliput tentang pasukan PBB RI di Lebanon... Di edisi inilah, ayah saya menulis artikel tentang laporan pasukannya di Lebanon!! YaY!!! :D:D:D
